The project engaged nearly 500 Yemenis to promote social cohesion and bolster existing civil society-led initiatives in local communities, such as identifying early warning signs of violent extremism. Trained 50 religious’ leaders, educators, and civil society representatives as trainers; conducted 18 follow-up workshops to step-down the training to at least 450 community members; and a dozen local initiatives that draw on skills and capacity to address significant factors driving violent extremism or otherwise strengthen community resilience to extremism and creates alternatives for youth.
