The Yemen Strengthening Civil Society Project (YSCP), funded by the Dutch Embassy was implemented during August 2009 - Dec 2011. The project helped build the capacity of local NGOs in the tribal areas of Mareb, Shabwa, Albida, and Ibb. The project is designed to build and support Yemeni expertise in civic engagement by leveraging existing local talent to generate a broad-based and long-lasting impact on civil society throughout the target governorates. Through training, mentoring, and small grants. PartnersYemen helped 20 local civil society organizations reach their communities, engage with local councils, and implement small projects to respond to community needs. 20 small grants were provided to the LCSOs to address their institutional and community needs. 20 community facilitators trained and 400 community leaders trained, 20 committees established and 20 dialogues implemented.
