The targeted areas cleaning fund staff was trained and rehabilitated, the waste transport vehicles was maintained to lift the accumulated waste on the sidewalks on a daily basis, new waste bins were distributed on the streets most overcrowded with rubbish, and an awareness campaign on social media and on local radio to educate citizens to throw waste in assigned places.
Waste accumulated in the streets of Taiz city due to the great shortage of waste bins and waste collection vehicles, and the inability of the local authority to improve cleaning services due to the lack of a budget.
