In the village of "Al-Manwar", a small village surrounded by hills and green terraced fields in Ibb governorate in Yemen, fourteen-year-old girl "Fairouz" woke up early to take the long walk to get water from far areas along with other girls who were forced to drop out of school to fetch water after the country's conflict led to a water crisis. As well, they were subject to sexual harassment or being frightened of the narrow paths they go through. Partnersyemen and Al-Shaimaa Foundation created a Conflict Resolution Committee [within a grant supported by Partnersyemen] that negotiated a deal with all parties to build a new water system. This allowed the girls to go back to school, thus more than 23 girls who had dropped out of schools were able to resume their studies.
